Meet the Breeds

NEWBURY SHOWGROUND

Siberian Huskies & Alaskan Malamutes

Have you ever wanted to meet a Siberian Husky? We’re pleased to welcome the Saints Sled Dog Rescue to our Hylands show, where you’ll be able to get up close to the beautiful dogs and learn about their backgrounds. The team will also be performing in the Main Arena at intervals across the weekend.

Nihon Ken

Come and see the Association of Nihon-Ken at our Newbury show. Learn about the six native Japanese breeds all designated as ‘Natural Living Monuments’ of Japan – the Akita Inu, Hokkaido Ken, Kai Ken, Kishu Ken, Shiba Inu and Shikoku Ken. Meet some of these wonderful dogs and learn what it’s like to share your home and sofa with one of the Nihon Ken breeds.

The Barbets

We’re delighted to welcome The Barbet Club GB to this year’s Newbury Show. The Barbet breed was first recognised in the UK in 2018 and is steadily increasing in numbers. Learn more about this beautiful breed of devoted, loyal gundogs and come and meet some of the club’s gorgeous dogs at the show. (Sunday only)
